Toronto (Day 12)

Published 25 August 06 09:54 AM

Ventured on a city and harbour tour of Toronto; best way to get acquainted with each new city in such a short period of time.  The guide on the city tour didn’t have as many jokes up his sleeve (or was it me being tired) but at one stage it was hard to stop the yawning.  Generally, he told us, he didn’t stop the bus and take people on a short walking tour.. but.. because we looked like trustworthy tourists he was going to take a chance with us.  When I tried to get out of my seat I realised that my legs had fallen asleep too ; ).

The night before I analysed a guide map found in the hotel room.  On this map it showed that there was a large underground shopping complex.  The underground mall was great, many shops finely arranged with quality clothes.  (Still couldn’t get used to the price displayed on the tag and the different price at the cash register due to the tax that is added after.  As a tourist in Canada you can claim back the tax).
